Everyone knows that burning a candle for more than 4 hours is a fire hazard. Undoubtedly, the most amazing way to spread a fragrance for a consistent time period, longer than four hours of fragrance, the best alternative is a Reed Diffuser or  Wax Melts.

Reed Diffusers are a type of fragrance diffuser that uses reeds to disperse a fragrance throughout a room. They typically consist of a glass or ceramic container filled with scented oil and several reeds. The reeds, which are made of porous material such as rattan or bamboo, absorb the scented oil and release it into the air, creating a pleasant fragrance.

Wax melts are a type of scented wax that is designed to be melted in a wax warmer** to release fragrance. They typically come in small, cube-shaped pieces or shapes and are made of a blend of wax and fragrance oils.

How do they exactly work?

Reed diffusers

Reed Diffusers work by using porous reeds to absorb scented oil and disperse fragrance into the air. Here’s how they work:

  1. The reeds: Reed diffusers typically come with several reeds made of materials like rattan, bamboo, or other porous materials. These reeds are placed in the scented oil and act as wicks to draw the oil up and release fragrance into the air.
  2. The oil: The scented oil is typically made up of fragrance oils mixed with a carrier oil like mineral oil, vegetable oil, or alcohol. The oil is poured into a glass or ceramic container, and the reeds are placed in the oil.
  3. The diffusion process: The porous reeds draw the scented oil up and release fragrance into the air. The fragrance is released gradually and continuously, providing a consistent scent throughout the day.
  4. Maintaining the fragrance: Over time, the reeds may become saturated with the scented oil, reducing their ability to draw up the oil and release fragrance into the air. To maintain the fragrance, you can flip the reeds over, which will expose the dry ends and allow them to continue diffusing the fragrance.

Wax Melts

Wax melts work by melting scented wax to release fragrance into the air. Here’s how they work:

  1. The wax: Wax melts are small, often cube-shaped pieces of scented wax. The wax is typically made from a blend of natural waxes or synthetic wax, combined with fragrance oils.
  2. The warmer: Wax melts are designed to be melted in a wax warmer. The wax warmer is typically an electric or tea light-powered device that heats the wax to a temperature that melts it, but does not burn it.
  3. The melting process: When the wax is heated, it melts and releases fragrance into the air. The scent is typically released gradually and can last for several hours.
  4. Maintaining the fragrance: When the wax cools and hardens, it will no longer release fragrance into the air. To maintain the fragrance, you can simply replace the hardened wax with a new wax melt.

Tips for Choosing the Right Reed Diffuser or a Right Wax Melt:

When choosing a reed diffuser, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, consider the size of the room where you’ll be using the diffuser. Larger rooms will require larger diffusers or multiple diffusers to distribute the scent evenly.

When choosing wax melts, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, consider the size of your wax warmer. Some wax warmers are designed to hold larger wax melts, while others are better suited for smaller melts. Make sure you choose the right size for your warmer to ensure that the wax melts properly.

Next, consider the fragrance you want to use. There are a wide variety of scents available, from floral and fruity to woody and spicy. Think about the mood you want to create in your home and choose a scent that compliments that mood.

Finally, consider the quality of the diffuser or the wax melts themselves. Look for diffusers with high-quality fragrance oils and sturdy reeds that will last for the duration of the diffuser’s use and look for wax melts made of high-quality wax and fragrance oils to ensure that you get the most out of each melt.

    1. Hi Sakshi, Yes you can use it 3-4 times after melting but after that we recommend that you to clean the wax and use new ones for a stronger aroma.
